Isa's -Chapter 17

The following events take place in Chapter 17. It is Saturday, and the funeral for the boys is the next morning. At school, Becky was so sad because she gave up Tom's prized knob, and has nothing to remind her of him, also she regrets rejecting Tom and cries. Other children come along and they talk about the last time they saw Tom and Joe, bring to mind memories of them, and how both boys predicted that something was about to happen. The next morning, everyone in town come together at the church. Aunt Polly, Sid ,Mary and the Harper family enter the church dressed entirely in black, and the entire church stands as they take their seats in the front row. Church began and the minister started speaking kind words about the boys. At that moment, the door opens and Tom, Huck and Joe enter the church. Their families were very happy and grab Tom and Joe and begin to hug and kiss them, Tom was sad because anyone hug Huck so he told his Aunt and then she begins to hug Huck making him more uncomfortable or happy than being ignored by everyone. Tom’s outcome was the following: he was so proud for being at church and because he passed a great time. The last line of the chapter was the following: “Tom got more cuffs and kisses that day- according to Aunt Polly’s varying moods- than he had earned before in a year; and he hardly knew which expressed the most gratefulness to God and affection for himself” That means that he hadn’t received cuffs and kisses form Aunt Polly and he didn’t knew if the kisses or the cuffs showed more gratefulness to God and affection for himself, well both make gratefulness to God because the kisses shows your feelings toward the person and the cuffs do the same things I think.

Tom Sawyer --->> Chapter 12

In Chapter 12 Tom is said to be sick, his aunt tries a long series of medicines and remedies, but none seem to work. Well, maybe Tom isn’t sick at all. None of her remedies work because its love sickness and only the person you love could do something about it. He is sick in a romantic way because he misses Becky and maybe he loves Becky a lot that he feels alone and need someone to be with him. I think Tom isn’t pretending or acting anything because he changes a lot in two ways: he reached school ahead of time and he no longer took an interest in war, nor even in piracy.

My Funniest Story!

I try to be very respectful and serious on the occasions that you request: Acto Civico, School and Church. My story starts at Sunday in the night; I went to the church Las Mercedes in Progreso with all my family. In the church my brother and I sat between my father and mother, everyone was quiet and a group of young women’s started singing. I distracted when I saw my cousin outside the window yelling at me but I couldn’t hear her, my cousin came running towards the entrance and when she entered the church she felt. I was laughing a lot but not because she felt, I was laughing because a grasshopper jump on top of her head. I couldn’t stop, everyone stared at me, and so my mother told me to get out of the church for a minute to take air. I was outside and my cousin was inside with the grasshopper on her head.

Tom Sawyer!

I got the chance to know Tom's behavior by reading the book Tom Sawyer. Tom is a good boy but he hates working. I think Tom is like that because he misses his mother. Aunt Polly (his aunt) is taking care of him. If I knew Tom I would be his friend because I would try to help him in everything and give him some advices or suggestions to be an obedient boy. I will also tell him that Aunt Polly is trying to make him a better person when he grows up.
